The Steering Committee meets regularly to coordinate the activities of the Academic Hub. In addition to coordinating all projects, news and activities of the Hub, the Steering Committee approves new members and new projects.

How to become a Member

Please you need to become member of GARN first filling the next form, and make sure you check the Academic hub in the last part, then you will recibe an email with the instructions

Become a GARN member
Individual Membership:
If you are an academic member of any university, a published scholar, hold a Ph.D. or a relevant terminal degree, or are a recognized traditional or Indigenous knowledge-holder, you can request membership with the Steering Committee.

Organization Membership
Organizations, including recognized academic institutions, can nominate a representative as a contact point with the Academic Hub. Other organizations aligning with GARN and Academic Hub goals are admitted as members.

ACADEMIC HUB MEMBERSHIP PROTOCOLS

Please read this before you make the form for requesting become a member

Both individuals and organisations can be members of the Academic Hub. Organisations must nominate a representative to be the relevant contact point with the Academic Hub.
Membership is granted by either being involved in a particular project or by requesting the Steering Committee to be included as a general member.
Involvement in a particular project is confirmed by each particular project lead.
Individual and organisations can request the Steering Committee to be included as general members within the Academic Hub. In order to be considered for admission, individuals must be one of the following: academic members of any university, published scholars in the field (in any peer-reviewed journal), must have obtained a PhD from any university, must have a relevant terminal degree, or must be recognised traditional or Indigenous knowledge-holders.
Members can select whether or not to publish their contact details and information on the Academic Hub website.
Membership is granted for two years, after which renewal is only done with the member’s permission.

STEERING COMMITTEE AND ENLARGED COMMITTEE PROTOCOLS

1) The Steering Committee meets regularly (once a month) to coordinate the activities of the Academic Hub. In addition to coordinating all projects, news and activities of the Hub, the Steering Committee makes the following decisions:
a. Approval of new members.
b. Approval of new projects.
2) The Enlarged Committee includes, in addition to the Steering Committee, all active Project Leads and, as observers, all other GARN Hub leaders/facilitators. The Enlarged Steering Committee meets every two months.
